west coast fog

This is nature’s natural spotlight in Avatar Grove; taken from the the river bed of Gordon River. Gordon River is a popular destination for kayaking. Generally speaking, it is a lower-water run except for the rainfalls of fall and winter, when it has multiple sections of high quality whitewater.

This image looks along Browns Mountain, capturing a low band of fog skirting the mountain’s side. This is a typical fog in B.C.’s rainforest and mountains, very unlike the dense, all-encompassing fogs you often imagine fog to look like. The movement in the water, the whispy fog, the river’s bed and the forested mountain all contribute to a moody image, which is the reason it captured my eye.
